A short post this evening, based on this paper: COVID-19 Mortality Risk Correlates Inversely with Vitamin D3 Status, and a Mortality Rate Close to Zero Could Theoretically Be Achieved at 50 ng/mL 25(OH)D3: Results of a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
It's advantageous to take your D3 with vitamin K2 to ensure that the possibility of excess calcium is directed to the bones and not the blood vessels, though 4 or 5,000 IU shouldn't present a problem anyway.
Also, ensure it is D3, as D2 does not work as readily, nor stay in the body, whereas D3 does.
I'd note something 'obvious' but necessary I think -- only take multiple tablets to bring the dose up if they only contain vitamin D -- in particular, don't take multiple multivitamin tablets to bring up the vitamin D dose -- not all vitamins/minerals can be safely tolerated at higher doses.
Is there a simple calculator to turn this into the number of vitamin d tablets you should take on a day.
It will depend on the strength of your tablets.
I/U is a standard measure for vitamin D3.
25mcg = 1000 IU
100 mcg = 4000 IU
125 mcg = 5000 IU
